City Opens Applications for Summer Jobs
Dreaming of warmer days? The City of Rochester has officially opened applications for summer recreation and aquatics positions. They are looking to fill spots for lifeguards, camp counselors, and recreation assistants early this year, with pay rates starting around $15/hr and going up to $27.91/hr for supervisory roles. Knighthawks Soar with Weekend Sweep
The Rochester Knighthawks gave fans plenty to cheer about this weekend, securing two major victories back-to-back. They rallied to beat the Philadelphia Wings 16-13 on Friday and followed it up with a decisive 12-9 win over the Buffalo Bandits on Saturday in front of a record home crowd. Read the full recap here
School Bus Camera Safety Program Expands
In a move to protect our students, Monroe County Executive Adam Bello announced that the Brighton and Pittsford Central School Districts are officially joining the County’s School Bus Camera Safety Program. This initiative installs stop-arm cameras to ticket drivers who illegally pass stopped school buses. Read the announcement

I-90 Commuter Alert
If your week takes you east or west on the Thruway, keep an eye out for shoulder work and minor lane closures on the I-90 between Exits 44 and 47 (Rochester area). Most of the work is scheduled for off-peak hours (9 AM - 2 PM), but give yourself a little grace period if you're driving mid-day. Check Thruway status
