Monroe County has officially expanded its recycling program to include paper and plastic to-go cups, addressing a major "wish-cycling" confusion for residents. There is a catch to be aware of though: you must empty the cup, rinse it, and reattach the lid to ensure the optical sorters capture it correctly. This new protocol announced by Executive Adam Bello applies to your holiday coffee runs but explicitly excludes straws and foam cups.
